Contract Manufacturing Engineer

You

We’re looking for a detail-driven Contract Manufacturing Engineer to take ownership of onboarding new products into production. You’ll be the bridge between design, production, and our customers – ensuring every product is ready, documented, and delivered successfully to our customers.

The Role

Serve as theprimary point of contactfor our customers wanting contract manufacturing at IntelliDesign.
Create and manage technical documentation, including capturing key customer requirements to be verified against during first article inspection (FAI).
Managepanelisationandstencil design, ensuring design for manufacture (DFM) principles are followed.
Assist withPCB fabrication setupincluding developingPCB Fabrication Specifications (PFS).
CoordinatePCA-only imports, component sourcing, and box build activities.
Commission new builds and resolve first-article issues during pilot runs.
Collaborate with procurement and supply chain to ensure continuity and clarity.
Capture and continuously improve onboarding processes and workflows.

Things that matter to us

Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering Discipline or suitably experienced electronics technician.
Strong documentation and technical writing skills (work instructions, specs, SOPs).
Experience with PCBA manufacturing, electronic component types, and process flow.
Excellent communication and customer serviceâable to build rapport with contract manufacturing and clients.
Attention to detail and a structured, systems-driven mindset.
Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and supply chain.
Willingness to learn tools like FAB 3000 for PCB panelisation.
Experience in commissioning builds and managing process handovers is a plus.
Prior experience in electronics manufacturing, contract manufacturing, electronics or mechanical engineering or product industrialisation.
Exposure to box build supply chains or working with BOMs and component databases.
Understanding of Gerber files, fabrication drawings, cable drawing and manufacturing.
